This week will finish committee meetings. The most
discussion is around the bills being formulated in response to student safety
on school campuses and gun policies.
There has been no conferees for budget discussion named
nor has there been a budget conference schedule announce. This is due in part
to the expenditures associated with hardening the schools and expanded mental
health resources for prek-12. Additionally there has been a reduction to
the $167 million in the projected money available which has something to do
with the new federal corporate tax laws.(Sorry cannot explain that.)
